Route description
Name "Gorièca" is a diminutive of noun "gora", a mountain. In truth, from botanical point of view, this hillock is a diminished mountain. Sunny side slopes are rich with flowers from great mountain slopes: groups of mixed deciduous trees are similar to mixed forests. Even plant species common on cold places can be found in shady north along the river Sava. Different plant spcies can be observed almost all th year round: Christmas Rose (Hlleborus niger) in the winter. Liverleaf (Hepatica nobilis), Prime Rose (Primula vulgaris) and violets early in the spring... Can you imagine that more than 200 different plant species live on this hillock?
