CANYONING

Over the centuries, the river carved its way through very narrow and deep canyons of remarkable beauty. We invite the guests to get a different view over the more than 30 m deep canyons and feel the true power of nature. Canyoning is swimming down and descending the beds of mountain rivers. In easier canyons (beds of the Mostnica) this mostly consists of swimming and jumping into pools. In more demanding gorges it is necessary to use ropes to descend waterfalls. Neoprene wet suits provide protection from the cold. Professional guidance guarantees equipment, safety, and a wonderful experience in the world that is not accessible to ordinary mortals. Bohinj valley has a lot of hidden canyons but the programme runs in three most magnificent canyons of all: canyon Mostnica, canyon Grmečica and canyon Jerečica. The participants need bathing suit, towel and an extra T-shirt. All other necessary equipment provides organiser.

PROGRAMMES: Canyon Mostnica Is quite unpretentious and very beautiful canyon. It is located in the Triglav National Park and is suitable for everyone. The canyon has two 3 m high jumps and for Mostnica we do not need rope, so we recommend this canyon for all the beginners, who haven't done canyoning before. Canyon Grmečica Is most adventurous of all three. The participants can decide for the long or short version. We need rope to descend the waterfalls and the most courageous can jump from 8m high waterfall into the natural pool. We recommend this canyon for more advanced participants. Canyon Jerečica Has a lot of natural toboggans and in some parts we need rope to descend the waterfalls. The participants can decide for the long or short version. We recommend this canyon to participants, who have had some experience with canyoning.

DATES: The main summer season, mainly July and August. Descents are usually possible every day, but safety comes first - a large storm can turn a not-so-difficult trip into a risky adventure.
