Cycling is a wonderful way to explore the Bohinj area. Bikes enable us to reach even the areas that are completely inaccessible by cars.
Besides that, we do not have to pay any parking fees and at the same time cycling is good for our health and vitality as well as for the nature around us because bikes are one of the most eco friendly means of transport.
What does Bohinj have to offer to a cycler?
The 20-kilometre long and 5-kilometre wide Bohinj valley, that is surrounded by magnificent mountains, offers numerous tours of various difficulty levels and spices them up with an extremely rich natural and cultural heritage.
You can choose between various cycling and mountainbiking tours.
Speciality among cycling trails are botanical cycling routes.
Some cycling routes are already marked and described in the Mountain Biking Guide written by Matjaž Žmitek that you can buy in one of the information centres in Bohinj.
We plan to further develop the cycling routes in Bohinj to bring you even more pleasure and provide you with additional interesting guidebooks.
How can I cycle in Bohinj?
- You can do it yourself or with the help of experienced guides - in either case, you won't regret it.
- To experience the best of the route you selected, we advise you to prepare for the tour with the help of the people in tourist information offices, guidebooks and maps.
- You can rent a bike in various places in Bohinj.
