SAVICA WATERFALL - THE SOURCE OF LIFE

The waters from the lakes, located in the valley of waters from the Triglav Lakes Valley, burst out to daylight at the wall rock of Komarča under the name of Savica.

Spurting from a karst cavern, the water falls in the shape of an A-lettered 2-meter waterfall 78 m deep. The waterfall has always attracted attention of numerous people, among them also the natural scientist Baltashar Hacquet and Austrian archduke Ivan.

France Prešeren, the most famous Slovene poet, chose the waterfall for his epic poem entitled Krst pri Savici (Christening at Savica).
