The Triglav Lakes Valley The Triglav Lakes Valley, one of the most beautiful in the Julian Alps, is famous for its seven lakes and other natural wonders. The first lake ("Pod Vršacem" Lake) is hydrologically separated from the others that supply the waters of the Savical Waterfall. Each of the seven lakes was named after its characteristics: the Brown Lake is surrounded by a brown belt in summer, "Pod Vršaki" puddle is covered with snow long during springtime, the Green Lake contains algae, the Great lake is the largest, the Double Lake changes into a single one when the water level rises, and the Black Lake is of a dark colour because of the surrounding pinewood. The lakes are located between 1319 m and 2002 m above sea level.
