WINTER HIKING IN BOHINJ

Hiking is an exciting recreational activity also during the winter.

In the valley...

Hikes across the plains and through the villages in Bohinj, a visit to the Mostnica canyon, Savica waterfall, Vodnikov razglednik, walks by the lake etc. are a pleasant alternative or a welcome supplement to the adventures on snowy ski slopes.

Bohinj is a part of the Triglav National Park also in winter, not at all less magnificent, only different.

However, one certainly needs to be more careful during this time.

Snowy mountains...

Bohinj has some incredible mountaineering to offer in winter - an ascent to Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia, or to any of the numerous magnificent peaks that surround the basin.

All alpine huts offer accommodation (bivouacs, rooms) also during the winter.

True mountaineers prefer mountains in winter to those in summer, however they are far more demanding.

Knowledge, mountain-climbing skills, experience, physical preparation, appropriate equipment!

All those who do not feel confident about all of the above conditions should by no means go to the snow-covered mountains.

We also recommend a guide to all experienced mountaineers who are not familiar with Bohinj mountains!

Before all winter hiking adventures we recommend one to gather all possible information about their track and to carefully check the weather forecast and the risk of snow slides.
