THE JULIAN ALPS in Slovenia:
Kranjska Gora, Triglav National Park, Bled, Ljubljana, Postojna
Caves, Lipica Stud Farm
Day 1:
Arrival in Kranjska Gora in late afternoon. Accommodation in a
hotel in Kranjska Gora.
Accommodation, welcome drink and buffet dinner.
Day 2:
Lake Bled and Begunje
At 9 a.m. after self-service breakfast, a guided half-day tour
to Bled (by agreement). A visit to Bled, a boat ride to the island
on Lake Bled and back, followed by a drive to Begunje with a visit
to the Avsenik Gallery where you will see a movie about Slavko
Avsenik, a well-known Slovene composer and musician. A chance
of lunch at Slavko Avsenik's. Bus drive back to Kranjska Gora.
Buffet dinner.
Day 3:
Ljubljana - a guided tour of the Slovene capital (whole day)
At 9 a.m. after self-service breakfast, a drive to Ljubljana,
followed by a guided tour of the town. Free time in Ljubljana.
On the way back to the hotel, a visit to the pilgrimage church
in Brezje is also possible. Drive back to Kranjska Gora. Buffet
dinner.
Day 4:
Impressions of the Triglav National Park
At 9 a.m. after self-service breakfast, a guided whole day tour.
A drive pass the town of Jesenice to Bled and Bohinj. A gondola
ride to Vogel, the peak with the best view in the Triglav National
Park, followed by a trip to the Savica Waterfall, an afternoon
rest (the trouts taste best in the Center Restaurant), and a visit
to the Church of St John in Rib·ev Laz; a visit to the Museum
of Alpine Dairy Farming is also possible. Drive back to Kranjska
Gora through the upper Bohinj valley. Buffet dinner.
Day 5:
The Postojna Caves and Lipica Stud Farm (whole day).
At 9 a.m. after self-service breakfast, a drive to Postojna, followed
by a tour of the cave (tour + lunch: 25 € per person). At 2 p.m.,
a drive to Lipica, where we will enjoy a classical horse riding
school performance. The show begins at 3 p.m. (13 € per person).
Bus drive back to Kranjska Gora. Buffet dinner.
Day 6:
Planica, the place with the biggest ski jump in the world, and
the Zelenci Spring
At 9.30 a.m. after self-service breakfast, a guided tour to Planica
(10 € for the bus), followed by a visit to Zelenci, the spring
of Sava Dolinka. Afternoon is free. Buffet dinner.
Day 7:
Departure after self-service breakfast at 8.30 a.m.
This is a 7-day program that can also be adapted
on request. Other programs also include visits to Bled, Bohinj
and Bovec.
Prices for hotels, entrance fees and guided tours will be set
after an agreement on the date.
