In the company of the botanical and mountain guide we will walk along the Fužine mountain pastures and getting to know the nature conservation of the ponds.
Mountain pastures in the area of the TNP have already faced in the past a lack of surface water sources for feeding livestock, and therefore they provided water by collecting rainwater in traditionally built pits. The pits are also the only standing surface water resource as an important habitat for protected species. Due to the abandonment of pasture activities in the last decades, which directly endangered the long-term conservation of wild species bound to surface water bodies such as the large stud and hill urh.
