A very interesting meadow is located right behind the old restaurant. It is wet, therefore, it is a great habitat for swamp plants: the common butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris), broad-leaved cottongrass (Eriophorum latifolium), early marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza incarnata), marsh valerian (Valeriana dioica).
We walk along the edges of the meadow to the first ski station “Kobla 2”, where we can admire typical meadow plants. We cross the road and continue to the top part of ski slope “Kobla 1”. 8 types of orchids grow there: common spotted orchid (Dactylorhiza maculata ssp. Fuchsii), early marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza incarnata), military orchid (Orchis militaris), globe orchid (Traunsteinera globosa), burnt-tip orchid (Orchis ustulata), common twayblade (Listera ovata), lesser butterfly orchid (Platanthera bifolia), fragrant orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea). We can also see the grass-leaved flag (Iris graminea), Phyteuma halleri all. (or Phyteuma ovatum), valerian (Valeriana officinalis) etc.
Then we cross the road again and climb along the cart road on the edges of ski slope “Kobla 2”. We can spot whorled Solomon’s-seal (Polygonatum verticillatum) and star gentian (Gentiana cruciata) there. Then we take a break and admire the beautiful view of Bohinj and the surrounding mountains. We continue towards the former Janez Mencinger hut. Before the hut we take a turn into the forest, where we can admire the white flakes of May lilies (Maianthemum bifolium) and the last orchid on that day, namely the bird’s nest orchid (Neottia nidus-avis).
We return on the road, where we can also notice the perennial honesty (Lunaria rediviva), nettle leaved speedwell (Veronica urticifolia), balm-leaved red deadnettle (Lamium orvala) …
