EXHIBITIONS DURING THE 18. INTERNATIONAL WILD FLOWER FESTIVAL
Overview of the exhibitions at the International Alpine Flower Festival. Various exhibitions will be on show, featuring floral motifs, traditional crafts and artistic expressions related to flowers. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Wild flowers and the creative interpretations they inspire.
Exhibition on the occasion of 70. anniversary of MA Bohinjska Bistrica
The Bohinjska Bistrica Mountaineering Association was founded in 1954 and operates in the Lower Bohinj Valley. The association manages Slovenia’s first mountain hut; Orožnova mountain hut.
Opening date: 23. 5. May 2024 at 18h in Cultural Hall of Joža Ažmana in Bohinjska Bistrica. The event is free of charge.
An exhibition of botanical drawings
This year’s study group took place at the Bohinj House under the guidance of Caroline Ann Yvonenne Bernik, a graduate of the Society of Botanical Artists from Great Britain. The participants got to know various plants from their roots to their flowers, observed and drew them, and thus acquired botanical knowledge.
The exhibition presents the results of their studies, the main medium of which is polychrome crayon, which is used to create vivid and detailed botanical illustrations.
The exhibition will be open from 24 May 5. to 9 6 2024. June 2024 5. – 9.6. on the ground floor of the Bohinjska House, Mencingerjeva ulica 4, Bohinjska Bistrica. (Every day during the week from 8:00 to 15:00 and during the opening hours of the House).
Cvetulka
Cvetulka is a collective of independent artists working in the South-Eastern Europe region. The exhibition will be presented at the 18th Flower Festival with illustrations by female artists from Serbia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria. The collective is active since 2018 and appears in various line-ups at music, art and market festivals across Europe, bringing together artists from different professions.
The exhibition will be on display at the Stara Fužina Tourist Information Centre from 29 5. to 9 6. 2024.
Exhibition of Mišo Serajnik’s watercolours “Portraits of Nature”
By chance, Mišo Serajnik came across a Greek Catholic monk and iconographer who introduced him to the world of icons. Later, he took three seminars on iconography with another iconographer. Ss he found this way of painting somewhat limiting, he furthered his knowledge at the Water colour academy – London and successfully completed it. He is currently taking a course in botanical drawing with polychrome crayons, taught by Caroline Ann Yvonne Bernik at the Bohinj House in Bohinjska Bistrica.
He has exhibited his work in Bohinj, Radovljica, Bled. His icons are in the possession of individuals in Bohinj, Bled, Hrušice near Jesenice, Javornik, Tolmin, Switzerland and the USA.
Opening: 29 May 5. 2024 at 19:00 at the Stara Fužina Cultural hall.
Exhibition and Workshops of embroideries with floral motifs
Exhibition of floral embroideries and workshops are organised under the guidance of Association of Peasant Women and Girls in Bohinj.
Exhibition and workshops on embroidery with floral motifs will be open daily from 1 to 5 5. June 2024, between 14:00 and 19:00 at the Stara Fužina Cultural hall. The workshops are free of charge.

Exhibition Constructive Alps
Exhibition of the Costructive Alps architectural prize, which rewards sustainable construction and renovation in the Alps. The exhibition will showcase the award-winning and nominated projects. Among the awarded projects was the renovation of the Šenk Homestead in Jezersko, and among the nominees were the Hotel Bohinj and Brv na Rju.
Opening: 7. 6. 2024 at 20:00 in StaraFužina Cultural hall
At the opening of the exhibition, architect Maruša Zorec, a member of the international jury, will speak about the exhibition, and we will also talk to the Karničar couple from the Šenk Homestead in Zgornje Jezersko.
