Your trip starts by getting off the bus at Bohinj lake bus stop. Here, you can enjoy Slovenia’s biggest natural lake with water temperature rising to 22°C in the summer. Visit the nearby church of St. John the Baptist, home to some of the oldest frescoes in Slovenia.
Continue your trip with a panoramic boat ride across the lake. Current departures start at 9:30 and follow each other every 40 minutes, until 18:10. The boat ride lasts for 25-30 minutes.
Enjoy the beautiful lake again from the other side. Then take a cable car ride up to Mt Vogel – 1535 m above the sea level. In summer, the cable car operates between 8 am and 6 pm, departing every 30 minutes.
We have included lunch at the top of Mt Vogel – Hungry chamois (lunch for adults – “ričet” (barley porridge boiled with beans), “jota” (stew with sauerkraut and potatoes) or goulash and apple strudel) or Hungry dormouse (lunch for children – chicken medallions, French fries, pancake).
After returning to the valley and ending your trip you can return to Ljubljana from bus stop Vogel križišče/ crossroads.
