GroupNoreia is a five-piece ensemble of experienced musicians playing traditional Irish, Scottish and Breton tunes, but not always in a completely traditional way. Recently, they have been actively fusing Celtic tradition with their own heritage – Slovenian folk music, creating a unique and distinctive sound. It was named after the ancient capital of the Norse kingdom, which partly extended into today’s Slovenian territory. They have been active musically for quite some time. In 2014, they recorded their debut album, Step it out!, which features traditional Irish music. In 2017, a second album, Moments to Treasure, was released, which for the first time features original music alongside traditional songs. In the same year, they performed in strong international competition at one of the most important Celtic music festivals in the world, the Ortigueira Festival in Spain. With their third album, Viže (2019), they present themselves in a fusion of Celtic and Slovenian traditions.
For the Robert Burns Kilt project, they teamed up with Jani kovačič and Laura Krajnc.
