The exhibition “Don’t Teach a Flower How to Bloom” is a research project by YASA that boldly explores deeply rooted stereotypes about femininity. Through a series of posters and mosaics of content sourced from media, advertising, the internet, and social networks, the project reflects contemporary representations of women in society.
It connects with the metaphor of double agents from the biennial, where flowers come alive as symbols of strength, resistance, autonomy, and the transformation of social norms.
The collaboration between MAO and Bohinj enables relevant themes to be placed in the local context, opening up reflections on language, gender identity, and social expectations. Bohinj, with its unique linguistic practices, offers a distinctive insight into the perception of femininity and transcends traditional norms.
Join us in Bohinj and discover a visual world where flowers speak with the power of resistance and transformation.
You are warmly invited!
