The organizing committee Krn Memorial Hike 1918–2024 and the Kobarid Museum, along with other co-organizers, invite you to the 23rd memorial hike to Lake Krn and a ceremony in honor of all soldiers who fell on the Soča Front, marking the anniversary of the end of World War I.

The main ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12:00 PM by Lake Krn, followed by a celebration at the Hungarian Cross at 1:30 PM. The hike to the ceremony will start from Lepena, and, if conditions are good and safe, also from Bohinj and Tolmin. We do not plan an organized group departure.

The hut by Lake Krn will be open during the memorial event from Friday, November 8, to Sunday, November 10. We recommend making a reservation for overnight stays with PD Nova Gorica. All participants are advised that the ascent from Lepena to Krn Lake requires approximately 2.5 hours of hiking. You will need appropriate winter hiking gear, as conditions in the mountains can already be wintry; therefore, please check the trail conditions before setting out.
