It takes place in Bohinj\, in the heart of the Julian Alps—an area shaped by a strong mountaineering identity\, a long tradition of mountain travel\, and a close connection to nature. \nThe festival is designed as an integrated experience\, bringing together guided ski touring\, professional workshops\, lectures\, and competitive formats. The programme addresses a wide range of participants—from those discovering ski touring for the first time to experienced skiers seeking more demanding terrain\, a deeper understanding of conditions\, and advanced knowledge. Through lighter activities and accompanying events\, the festival is also open to companions and younger visitors. \nA defining focus of the festival is understanding the mountain environment\, winter conditions\, and inherent risk. Ski touring is not merely a sport\, but a continuous process of decision-making\, judgement\, and adaptation. Mountain hazards are a reality that must be recognised\, respected\, and taken seriously. Rather than offering instant or simplified experiences\, the festival provides knowledge\, lived experience\, and space for learning in real mountain conditions. \nThe Bohinj Ski Touring Festival is more than a sporting event. It is a place for community connection\, the exchange of experience\, and the development of a respectful relationship with the mountains. It is a festival where movement\, knowledge\, and experience come together in an authentic winter setting. \nJATrail d.o.o. is the main operational and technical partner of the festival\, responsible for the comprehensive delivery of the additional programme\, technical support\, and coordination of all on-site activities. Guided ski touring and workshops are delivered by OutVentureX guides certified by IFMGA\, with emphasis on responsible leadership\, situational judgement\, and clear communication in real mountain environments. The team has many years of experience in organising high-profile sporting events\, including Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB\, Ultra Trail Run Vipava Valley\, and Soča Outdoor Festival\, with a clear focus on safety\, logistics\, and high-quality execution.
