Have you ever heard of the tradition otepanje <\/em>or even met the otepovci<\/em>? Otepanje <\/em>is one of the most recognizable traditions in Slovenia, steeped in a rich ethnographic and cultural significance. Originating from pagan times, this custom has earned its place in Slovenia’s Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage<\/strong>, highlighting its importance in preserving Slovenia’s cultural identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This tradition not only endures but flourishes with each passing year in Bohinj. In 2023, 14 boys from the village of Stara Fu\u017eina embraced the tradition and dressed in their traditional fur coat costumes to knock on the door of every house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
