How wooden houses were built, how people mined and extracted iron, and how they buried the deceased across the river.<br \/>\nYou will walk along the old walls, among buildings of which only remnants remain, and discover the past through illustrations and replicas of historical objects. The vantage point overlooking the Bitnje church and the prehistoric burial site reveals all the cleverness and deliberateness of the choice of location and method of construction in our past.<\/p>\n<h3>AJDOVSKI GRADEC AND FRANCE PRE\u0160EREN<\/h3>\n<p>The epic poem The Baptism at the Savica by Slovenia\u2019s greatest poet, Dr. France Pre\u0161eren, is linked to Ajdovski gradec:<br \/>\nWith them, who still hold fast to the false faith,<br \/>\nhe flees to Bohinj, into the Bistrica Valley,<br \/>\nto the fortress built upon the grey rock.<br \/>\nEven to this day you can see the ruins,<br \/>\ncalled Ajdovski gradec,<br \/>\nwhere you behold \u010crtomir\u2019s possessions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guided tour of Ajdovski gradec with an archaeologist, where you can discover what life in Bohinj was like 2,500 years ago.<br \/>\nAjdovski gradec is the name of an ancient settlement located on a hill east of Bohinjska Bistrica.
