The Triglavska roža is a completely renovated ship that hides the building blocks of Bohinj’s rich tradition and cultural landscape in its modern image. Chartering a boat allows you to celebrate different occasions. The boat is powered by an electric motor and is very calm and quiet.

The most special is the wedding on a boat, a vow of love on Slovenia’s largest permanent lake in the heart of the Triglav National Park.

In the event of fog, high winds, torrential rain, high lake levels or other unforeseeable events, delays or cancellations may occur.

Dogs are welcome on board and free of charge. During peak periods, when it is not possible to keep adequate distance between dogs and other passengers on board, it is compulsory for dogs to wear a muzzle.

Lake Bohinj is located entirely within the Triglav National Park. Cycling on the path along the northern shore of Lake Bohinj (from Mrenš to Ukanec) is NOT allowed. This protects sensitive natural areas. As we also want to protect the well-maintained interior of our ships, we do not carry bicycles.

Due to the specific design of electric cruise ships, space is limited. Ideally, pushchairs should be folded on board. Bicycle trailers converted into pushchairs cannot be transported on days with a high level of guests.

The entry point at Ribčeve Lazo does not have disabled access. The entry point is reached by low steps from the main road. The entry point in Ukanc is wheelchair accessible.

The ships do not have wheelchair access. Boarding takes place through a narrow passageway up three steep steps. The amidships area has space for about one or two wheelchairs. Electric wheelchairs cannot be transported.

Parking is limited to a maximum of 2 hours in the car parks in the immediate vicinity of Lake Bohinj. We recommend parking in more affordable car parks a short distance from the lake and using free public transport. Information on location, prices and parking availability can be found here.

  • staying on board;
  • smoking;
  • food intake;
  • swimsuit entry;
  • admission of intoxicated persons.

OUR FLEET AND THE HISTORY OF TRANSPORT ON LAKE BOHINJ

Public transport on Lake Bohinj is not new, it has been around in one form or another for more than 100 years. The history of transport dates back to 1910, when a regular line, the boat Bogomila, started operating, transporting people from Ribčev Láz to Ukanec twice a day from the church of St. John the Baptist to the Zlatorog Hotel and back.

One of the major chapters of the Lake Bohinj liner navigation began in 2000, when the municipality of Bohinj entered into a partnership with the municipality of Ramsau and, with the help of Ramsau and donors, bought a boat from the Berchtesgaden Navigation Company and transported it from Königsee to Lake Bohinj. The journey of more than 250 kilometres took 3 days, as the speed of the truck was not allowed to exceed 30 km/h due to the heavy load. The ship was named Bohinj. Very soon it became clear that just one ship was not enough for the vast Lake Bohinj, so in 2003 the Bohinj was joined by the Zlatorog, which is even slightly larger than the Bohinj.

Between 2017 and 2019, the Bohinj was once again sitting idle on Lake Bohinj, as big plans were being forged for the Zlatorog.

In July 2019, the Zlatorog returned to the lake, but in a completely reborn form and with a new name, the Triglav Rose. The Bohinj was also renamed the Zlatorog. The new design has taken a lot of time, as man-made objects have to be designed carefully so as not to overshadow the essence, the beautiful environment that attracts visitors from everywhere with its natural beauty. The vessel must not spoil the view from the shore with its intrusiveness, but at the same time it must allow passengers to enjoy the unique views from the vessel. With all the traditional, local elements and the extensive use of natural materials that enrich the ship’s image, the Triglav Rose is also the largest product in the diverse family of the “Bohinjsko/From Bohinj” brand.
