Weddings on Triglavska roža

The Triglavska roža is a completely renovated boat, which in its modern form hides the building touch of Bohinj’s rich tradition and cultural landscape. Renting a boat allows you to celebrate various occasions. The boat is powered by an electric motor and is very quiet and peaceful.

The most special occasion is certainly a wedding on a boat, a vow of love on Slovenia’s largest permanent lake in the heart of the Triglav National Park.

Tickets are sold at the Info points at the boarding points in Ribčev Laz and Ukanc. When the Info point is closed, tickets are sold directly on board. Purchase is only possible with cash.

No. If you buy a return ticket, you can return at any time during the day, depending on availability of rides.

In the event of fog, strong winds, torrential rain, high lake levels or other unforeseeable events, delays or cancellations may occur.

Dogs are welcome on the boat, the ride for them is free of charge. During peak hours, when it is not possible to ensure adequate distance between dogs and other passengers, the use of a muzzle is mandatory.

Lake Bohinj is located entirely in the Triglav National Park. Cycling on the path along the northern shore of Lake Bohinj (from Mrenš to Ukanc) is NOT allowed. This protects sensitive natural areas. As we also want to protect the carefully maintained interior of our boats, we do not transport bicycles.

Baby buggies are generally transported. Due to the special design of the electric passenger boats, the space is limited. Folding prams and buggies are thus ideal. Bicycle trailers converted into prams cannot be transported on days with a high rate of guests.

The boarding point in Ribčev Laz does not have regulated access for the disabled. Low stairs lead to the boarding point from the main road. The boarding point in Ukanc is accessible for wheelchairs.

The boats do not feature wheelchair access. Getting in and out of the boats should be done wisely. Boarding is relatively narrow, steep and down three steps. In the middle area, there is space for about one or two wheelchairs per boat. Electric wheelchairs cannot be transported.

Parking is limited to a maximum of 2 hours in the car parks in the immediate vicinity of Lake Bohinj. We recommend parking in more affordable car parks a short distance from the lake and using the free public transport. Information on the location, prices and availability of car parks can be found here.

Our fleet and the history of boating on Lake Bohinj

Public transport on Lake Bohinj is not new, it has been around in one form or another for more than 100 years. The history of transport dates back to 1910, when a regular line, the Bogomila boat, started operating from Ribčev Laz to Ukanc, transporting people twice a day from St John the Baptist to the Zlatorog Hotel and back.

One of the major chapters of the Lake Bohinj shipping line began in 2000, when the municipality of Bohinj entered into a partnership with the municipality of Ramsau and, with the help of the latter and donors, bought a boat from the Berchtesgaden shipping company and transported it from Königsee to Lake Bohinj. The journey of more than 250 kilometres took 3 days, as the speed of the truck was not allowed to exceed 30 km/h due to the heavy load. The boat was named Bohinj. Very soon it became clear that one boat was not enough for the vast Lake Bohinj, so in 2003 the boat Bohinj was joined by the boat Zlatorog, which is even slightly larger.

Between 2017 and 2019, the boat Bohinj once again sailed idle on Lake Bohinj as big plans were being forged for the boat Zlatorog.

In July 2019, boat Zlatorog returned to the lake, but in a completely reborn form and with a new name, Triglavska roža. Boat Bohinj was renamed to Zlatorog. The new design of Triglavska roža has taken a lot of time, as man-made objects have to be designed carefully so as not to overshadow the essence, the beautiful environment that attracts visitors from all over. The vessel must not spoil the view from the shore with its intrusiveness, but at the same time it must allow passengers to enjoy the unique views from the vessel. All the traditional, local elements and the extensive use of natural materials that enrich the image of the boat make the Triglavska roža the largest product in the diverse family of the »Bohinjsko/From Bohinj« brand
