The Polinar farm has always grown trdinka corn from which they grow their own seed. Corn trdinka is still grown the old-fashioned way, by planting it by hand and fighting weeds with hoes. Corn trdinka produced in this way is smaller, but tastier and more colourful. The harvested corn trdinka is “hard-skinned”, steamed and dried in the fresh air. The dried grain is ground in a mill in the old town of Fužina.
