Corn Trdinka is a yellow to dark red variety of maize indigenous to Bohinj. Bohinj people call it “turščca”, and it is difficult to grow as it cannot tolerate artificial fertilisers. The bread tastes great, and is even better with a slice of Bohinj cheese and dry sausage.
