Trout are farmed at the Zupan Fish Farm in the village of Nomenj, which is fed by a stream from below the Jazna River. Initially offering only fresh trout and trout fillets, the range was expanded a few years ago to include cold-smoked trout and trout caviar. Trout caviar obtained from eggs gently squeezed out of the fish during the spawning season, with the addition of salt flower from Piran.
