Tandem paragliding in Bohinj is a unique experience. You can fly from either the Vogar or Vogel viewpoint, both of which offer breathtaking views of Bohinj and the Julian Alps. In good conditions, the view stretches all the way to the sea.

Bohinj has ideal thermal conditions for longer tandem paragliding flights. We offer a choice of take-off point from an altitude of over 1000 m: from Vogel or Vogar. We paraglide over Lake Bohinj, the high mountains and the picturesque Mostnica gorge. The best time to fly is in May and June, when we can admire the contrasts between the snow-capped mountains, the lake and the spring greenery in the valley. That’s when you can capture picturesque images a photo tandem flight.

Tandem flight from Vogel

A tandem paragliding flight from Vogel is an adrenaline-fuelled experience with spectacular views of the Julian Alps, Lake Bohinj and the entire Bohinj Valley.

There are three take-off points on the Vogel, the most recommended of which is the one reached by the Orlove glave chairlift. The take-off point, which is less than 100 metres from the top of the Orlove glave, is also ideal in winter. The flight starts at an altitude of 1650 m above sea level. You will land in the bathing area at the Kramar Guesthouse on the shores of Lake Bohinj (530 m above sea level). The length of the flight depends on the wind conditions, but on average it takes about 20 minutes, as there is an altitude difference of over 1100 m.

Tandem flight from Vogar

You will fly in tandem with an experienced pilot or paragliding instructor.

No previous tandem experience is required. All you need is a good pair of hiking shoes and a bit of courage. Instructor or a tandem paraglider pilot will instruct you on what to do at the take-off point and what to do on landing.

Vogar is situated on the northern side of Lake Bohinj. The difference in altitude from take-off to landing is 500 m. A paraglider flight lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, but the length of the flight is extremely difficult to predict, as it depends on the weather conditions.

General instructions for paraglider pilots

  • Pay attention to the winds in the valley.
  • In SW wind and foehn wind in the valley, strong gusts of wind are possible.

  • Landing on unregistered Triglav National Park areas is prohibited and fined.
  • Landing in high grass is prohibited. In case of an emergency landing, please carry your equipment to a suitable place and stow it away there.
  • Check air space regulations before take-off.
  • Taking off and landing is only permitted at official take-off and landing locations.
