Bohinj in autumn is a paradise for nature lovers and those seeking an active holiday. Golden-yellow forests, fresh mountain air and breathtaking panoramic views create the perfect backdrop for hiking along mountain trails, cycling through picturesque villages and peaceful walks by the lake. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, horse riding through the colourful countryside or even an adrenaline-fuelled parachute jump, weather permitting.
You can also take a more leisurely approach to exploring the countryside – by taking a panoramic boat trip on Lake Bohinj.

Autumn is a brilliant time for a family break in Bohinj, especially during the autumn half-term holidays, when there’s a programme of guided excursions, creative workshops, nature experiences and B.O. FEjST. For family exploration throughout the autumn, the Pokljuka Treasure and Zlatorog’s Fairytale Trail are also available.
The Pokljuka Treasure is a family-friendly fairy-tale adventure trail through the Pokljuka forest, where children learn about nature and the importance of treating it with care through a story about elves, tasks and exploration. The circular, easy trail is approximately 1.4 km long and is suitable for children aged 4 and over.
The Zlatorog Fairy-Tale Trail takes you through the world of Bohinj’s folk tales, where nine fairy-tale characters await you along the way. The circular trail is approximately 2 kilometres long, so you can walk it in an hour or spend the whole day on it, depending on your pace and how much you fancy exploring. Along the way, you’ll find suggestions for family activities that you can enjoy in the great outdoors – either on the Fairy-Tale Trail itself or anywhere else as you set off on a family adventure in nature.
